Morten Krogh had the chance to interview Michelle Thrush and she, of course, talked about her movie with Benicio, “Jimmy Picard”.

Morten: You has recently booked a supporting role in, Jimmy Picard, a drama directed by Arnaud Desplechin. It’s a true story of a friendship between a Native American and a French psychoanalyst. Apart from the world-renowned actor Benicio Del Toro, Mathieu Amalric, and Gina McKee will also star in this upcoming flick…and I know it will do really well in the theaters world wide. You play Benicio Del Toro’s sister. Can you tell us about your character?

I can tell you something about the film. It takes place in 1948 after the war. It is real book I think its called “Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian”. It is a great script! I know the director tried for over two years to find the right actor and in the end he decided to go with a movie star to fill the seats. But the skins that are in it are Misty Upham, Gary Farmer, A Martinez, Jennifer Podemski, and myself. I am sure there are more but those are the names. It is a really Freudian based script and all the characters are real. It is basically about Benicio’s character (Jimmy Picard) was injured in World War ll, and he and I are brother and sister. I raised him so we are really close and he has a head injury, so I bring him to Kansas and get him seen, and they say it is not a physical injury, but psychological, so they place him in analysis with a quirky guy who is played by Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), who gets into his thoughts and analyzeshis dreams etc. It is directed by Arnaud Desplechins whom is a huge director in France, and he told me he hand picked his cast. I am having a blast doing this and Benicio is a beautiful soul whom is one of the most dedicated and present actors I have ever worked with. I am also shooting Arctic Air right now in Canada, so I am going back and forth and that is a little taxing but it is all good, can’t complain about too much work!

March 17, 2013 Paradise Lost

“Paradise Lost,” a romance-thriller involving the niece of late Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, to be played by Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro, will be shot in Panama, an official source told Efe Friday.

The source refused to give details about when the shooting would begin or at what precise locations, saying the production company has asked for “maximum discretion.”

But media outlets said some technical staff had begun arriving in Panama, while Del Toro, 46, will be in the Central American country next week when filming starts in the western province of Chiriqui, which borders Costa Rica, and Cerro Azul, a mountainous area outside Panama City.

The film will be the directorial debut of Italy’s Andrea Di Stefano, who also wrote the screenplay. As an actor, Di Stefano has appeared in more than a score of TV productions and movies, including Taiwanese-American filmmaker Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi.”

“Paradise Lost” tells of the romance that develops between Pablo Escobar’s niece, Mary, and a surfer named Nick (Josh Hutcherson), who falls in love with the young woman during a trip to Colombia.

ETonline: There have been rumors that Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling share a threesome in that movie. What can you say about its sexual content?
Collins: Oh yeah, the whole thing is very sexual. It’s definitely led to some moments of me wondering, “Where the hell am I?” I mean, Benicio [Del Toro] and Fassbender are there while Natalie is looking sexy and this beautiful woman is straddling me. It gets pretty intense.
